A View to a kill

The island of Crete

Crete is situated at the southernmost area of Europe at the cross-roads of three continents. Being the largest Greek island, it has enjoyed for decades the preference of millions of tourists from all over the globe and has become world renowned for its hospitality, traditional lifestyle, Mediterranean cuisine and archaeological significance.

The island nurtured Europe’s most ancient civilization, the Minoan, which thrived as of 6,000 BC. The island’s history ever since has been surrounded by legends such as King Minos, Theseus, Minotaur, Daedalus and Icarus, that have influenced historians and poets throughout the world.

The two largest palaces of that era, Knossos and Festos, comprise two of the most popular archaeological sites of the island.

Nowadays, the cosmopolitan north, where most of the cities of the island are located, balances the undiscovered south, where isolated and secluded beaches create the perfect getaway to an earthy paradise. No matter what your preferences are, in Crete you will most probably find what you are looking for, since the 155 Km of sun-kissed beaches include golden-sand coasts, rocky shores, palm tree gorges and much more.
